Description

1) A to G MS PAN over strike area, believed to be 20 miles south east of Can Tho; A-3B seen momentarily at bottom part of scene, flying low over strike area; PAN up over curved canal or river, bank off to right by camera aircraft. F2) A to A HA MLS Rear view of F-8E strafing Viet Cong position; hits are being made on ground and across canal; PAN to right by camera aircraft.3) A to A MS Rear view of F-8E in flight on another run, F-8E pulls up out of area, leaves scene at top. G4) A to G MS Down over strike area, F-8E seen ahead, flying low, moving in for another strafing run along canal, no strafing is seen plane pulls up, camera aircraft PANS over area and pulls up, picking up F-8E momentarily in upper left hand corner as it banks off to left. G5) A to G MLS Down over strike area, attacking aircraft is seen flying low over area next to canal. G to F6) A to G LS Down over water as camera aircraft banks sharply to left; DD seen in a starb"d turn, camera aircraft continues banking steeply to left; the USS ORISKANY is picked up being refueled by AO at sea; camera aircraft moves into flight pattern for landing, meat ball is seen on Fresnel Lens System left of frame; PILOT"s EYE VIEW of landing being made, approach is being made on flight deck; AO is the USS CALIENTE (AO-53) alongside the ORISKANY, the footage just shown was attack on Viet Cong concentration 6 miles south of Vihn Long. Attacking aircraft were F-8Es from squadron VMF-212; camera aircraft moves in over deck, touches down, rolls out to stop, then moves off at right to parking area, continues taxiing down deck on port side forward, other aircraft seen parked ahead. VG7) A to A MCU Stern view of F-8E in flight; PAN to right and in a dive looking down over jungle and clouds; PAN back to rear of F-8E, which launches two rockets seen streaking down toward strike area; camera aircraft pulls up. F8) A to A LS Sharp bank off at left over heavy cloud coverage, (film is scratched at left) sharp bank off to left over thick jungle area, believed to be an attack on Viet Cong battalion 20 miles north west of Saigon; PAN to left picking up F-8E launching two rockets, F-8E pulls up steeply, contrails seen off each wing tip, aircraft pulls up steeply and moves out of scene at top; PAN into clouds by camera aircraft. G9) A to G MLS PAN view looking down over dense jungle area; PAN to left picking up F-8E in flight directly ahead, plane banks slightly to left, moves out of scene at top, continues in flight over heavy cloud coverage by camera aircraft, no hit is seen. G to F10) A to A HA LS F-8E in flight over cloud coverage, contrails are seen off wing tips, plane is lost out of scene at top; jungle terrain seen below through openings in clouds, PAN up picking up F-8E momentarily again, and again lost out of scene at top. G to F11) A to A MLS A-4E in flight with bombs flying over clouded area, bomb is dropped from left wing, plane pulls out; PAN up with A-4E attempting to pick up aircraft. G to F12) A To G LS PAN steeply off to left, heavy cloud coverage seen below, continuing banking off to left of clouds; dense jungle seen below, no ordnance seen in this view.
