Description

1) CU PAN Bomb laden A-1H, wings folded, taxiing over the deck. G2) LA MS A-1H coming in for a landing aboard the USS INTREPID (CVS-11); another plane is in landing approach in FG. VG3) MS A-1H coming in for a landing; PAN with the A-1H rolling to a stop; pilot folds the wings, plane then begins taxiing off to the right. G4) MLS Ordnance personnel working with bombs on bomb carts on flight deck; EA-1E is being towed backwards. G5) MS A-1H being towed by the tail wheel; plane is from VA-176.G6) MS AO wheeling a 1000 1b. bomb on a bomb cart. G7) MS Man arriving under the starb"d wing of an A-1H with the heavy bomb.8) CU PAN AO wheeling a heavy bomb over flight deck; man moves up under the port wing of an A-1H. G9) MS Two AO"s moving about two bomb carts laden with small bombs.10) LA MS Men pushing on starb"d wing of an A-1H, assisting it to spread its wings.11) MS Several AO"s around the starb"d side of an A-1H during bomb loading; starb"d wing is being lowered. G12) MS AO loading bombs under starb"d wing of A-1H; bombs are on bomb carts in FG; PAN, showing men pushing on the folded wing of A-1H during spreading of the wings (this is an unusual procedure); AO"s move around to the port wing of the A-1H. G13) LA MS Looking down the deck area under wings of aircraft; AO moves by with small bombs on the bomb cart. G14) CU AO checking a large bomb, believed to be a 1000 1b. bomb, under port wing of the A-1H; man then goes to the left and checks the 1000 1b. bomb under the starb"d wing. G to F15) CU AO checking the bomb rack carrying the 1000 1b. bomb. F16) MS Men up on the starb"d wing pushing on the folded wing, assisting it to open and unfold; men then climb down from area. VG17) CU Looking towards the trailing edge of starb"d wing as it opens. G18) MS Bomb carts being pulled underneath the starb"d wing to load the bombs under the wing. G19) MS AO loading bombs under starb"d wing of aircraft; PAN with an AO wheeling two bombs on a cart; AO"s begin moving towards the area. G20) MS Men loading bombs under starb"d wing of the aircraft. G21) LS Men loading bombs under port wing of an A-1H; swish PAN, showing men loading bombs under the starb"d wing of another A-1H. G22) LA MS Plane Captain wiping down the canopy of the A-1H, polishing it. G23) LA CU AD standing up along the starb"d side of an engine cowling, checking some matter. G24) LA MS Plane Captain wiping down the cockpit cowling.25) LS Flight deck area, showing the work going on; planes are parked in left BG and right FG; four pilots come up the deck to man their aircraft; three pilots leave the scene and one stops and gives his hard hat to the Plane Captain then climbs up the A-1H.
