Description

1) MS U.S. Coast Guard Patrol Boat (WPB) approaching up along the starboard side of the U.S. Coast Guard High Endurance Cutter GRESHAM (WHEC-387), from which these scenes are taken; crewman in mid BG signalling with an orange flag. Ex. 2) HA CU Port bow view, Coast Guard Cutter, a line is running from the men on bow to the right of scene as they make their approach; men are hauling in the line in preparation for the refueling and replenishment from the GRESHAM; nylon line is made fast. VG 3) CU Coast Guard officer with a powered megaphone standing on deck of GRESHAM talking to the WPB. Ex. 4) CU Officer standing on deck speaking to someone out of frame. VG 5) HA MCU Port bow view, WPB underway close aboard the WHEC. VG 6) HA CU Officer using an electric megaphone, speaking to the WPB framed in mid G; search light is directly to one side of officer; WPB begins moving out of scene. VG 7) HA MS Bow view, PCF (Patrol Craft Fast) approaching up along the starboard side of the GRESHAM; PCF slows down, comes up along the starboard quarter. VG 8) HA MCU Looking down over bow of PCF, with two men on bow handling a nylon line, making the line fast. VG 9) HA CU Men on deck working fuel hoses over the side of the PCF for refueling; PAN, showing part of the after end of the PCF. VG 10) HA CU Looking down over men on stern of PCF receiving supplies tossed to them by men on GRESHAM. G 11) HA CU PCF coming up close alongside the GRESHAM; a man standing on deck-edge hands some paperwork to a crewman aboard the GRESHAM. VG 12) HA MS Bow view, PCF secured up alongside the GRESHAM; second PCF in BG. VG 13) MCU Coast Guard officer hollering out orders over his powered megaphone from wing of bridge. VG 14) HA MS Line being tossed off form the PCF-69 after replenishing; PAN, showing the second PCF in far BG off the starboard quarter of GRESHAM. VG 15) MLS Port beam view, PCF underway about 100 yds off starb'd side of GRESHAM. VG 16) HA MS Crewmen on board the GRESHAM sending a message on the signal light from wing of bridge. VG 17) HA MLS PCF along the starboard side of GRESHAM; triple bank of torpedo tubes in mid BG. VG 18) MLS Signalman aboard the GRESHAM sending a message on the signal light from wing of bridge. VG 19) CU Two crewmen aboard GRESHAM turning a crank during lowering of the Whale Boat swings out, hanging overboard on the davit. 21) ECU Negro Coast Guard sailor turning the crank. G 22) LA MCU BM giving hand signals during lowering of the boat (scene is taken from boat being lowered); PAN down, showing men holding onto lines. 23) CU Crewmen in boat, line passing thru their hands during lowering of boat. G 24) CU Crewman in the Whale Boat with an M-16 rifle; GRESHAM is in mid BG. VG 25) CU Crew aboard the Motor Whale Boat, Junk seen in far left BG. VG 26) CU Crewman sitting in FG, other crewmen in BG, as they approach the port quarter of Junk; line is handed to him by the crewman on the Junk. G 28) CU Two crewman of the Junk. G 29) CU Junk crewmen on the tiller. G 30) CU Junk crewman aboard the Motor Whale Boat in FG, Vietnamese officer goes aboard Junk for inspection; Coast Guard officer boards Junk with a 45 strapped to his hip. VG 31) ELS Port beam view, GRESHAM, as seen from Whale Boat. G 32) CU Two suspects on board the Motor Whale Boat being brought back for further interrogation; Vietnamese officer off to the right. VG 33) CU Coast Guard Cutter GRESHAM being approached by the Whale Boat; PAN, showing a crewman with an M-16 rifle seated in FG. G 34) LA MS Men working on deck with davits getting them ready to take the craft aboard (scenes are taken from the Whale Boat, as the boat is hoisted up to the davits.)
