1) CU Midshipman J. M. LONGERBONE observing signal Operations as signalman J. LAWRENCE sends message on signal light. 2) CU As before. VG 3) CU Midshipman LONGERBONE looking through binoculars, signal light in upper left frame, matress spring-type radar is in operation in upper right BG. G 4) LA CU J. A. LAWERNCE, SM3 standing next to signal light as he sends message to another ship. VG 5) MLS Flight deck area, part of aircraft in upper part of scene, some flight deck activity going on in mid BG, Midshipman BAYER and catapult officer walk by in and out of scene at right. G 6) CU Midshipman F. B. BAYER putting on a yellow crewman's helmet while standing on flight deck, aircraft parked in BC. G 7) LA MS Catapult officer giving rev-up signal for launching aircraft Midshipman at left on one knee as he observes the launch, signal officer gives the launch signal, plane moves through scene in mid BG, catapult officer turns around gives signals plane moves through scene in FG, steam rolls from catapult from right to left, Midshipman stands in right observing the launches. G 8) MS Midshipman standing up looking down over telephone talker standing on flight deck, catapult officer moves toward FG. G 9) LA CU A-4C moving into position on catapult, aircraft is carrying bullpup missile under fuselage; PAN to right, catapult crew hooking up the bridle; swish PAN to right, plan. director; catapult crew underneath A-4C at left, strain is taken on the bridle, men test bridle, leave area; swish PAN back to right, flight deck crew on side of deck; swish PAN further right, catapult officer giving launch signal, A-4C moves through scene from left to right. G to F 10) LA LS Several flight deck crewmen on deck, catapult officer in right BG gives the launch signal, A-4C is launched, passing into seen from left to right. G 11) LA LS Catapult officer gives launch signal; PAN slightly to left, picking up entire side of F-4B, plane is launched; PAN to right showing plane being launched and airborne; PAN to FG, catapult console operators. G 12) LA MCU F-4B on #2 catapult, plane is launched; PAN to right, tail away view airborne, green shirts in catwalk in right FG starboard side. VG 13) CU Midshipman stooped down on flight deck, catapult officer in mid BG giving launch signal G 14) CU Midshipmen and catapult officer leaving flight deck control for launch position as they walk by in FG and out of scene at right. (SV) G 15) MLS Midshipmen J. F. HIGGlNS and LTJg. C. C. Parish inspect F-4B, pilot moves around nose to starboard side of F-4B. G 16) CU Pilot explaining something to Midshipmen during preflight check of F- 4B; PAN to left pilot and Midshipmen moving down starboard side. G 17) CU Men, pilot at right explaining tail portion of aircraft to Midshipmen, they move out of scene at right. VG 18) CU Midshipmen standing behind tail pipe looking into tail pipe of F- 4B. F to P 19) LA CU Midshipmen climbing up side of F-4B and into rear cookpit. G 20) LA CU Pilot explaining cookpit area to Midshipmen, Midshipmen then climbs into cookpit. G to F 21) LA MS Pilot standing alongside cookpit as he watches the Midshipman secure himself into seat, pilot gives the Midshipmen checkout of cookpit area. F 22) CU Pilot assisting Midshipmen as he secures himself in seat in cookpit, pilot in flight gear climbs into scene from looks into rear cookpit. G 23) LA CU Pilot hooking- up intercom for the Midshipmen, Midshipmen dons his helmet, pilot looks down into cockpit section, explains something to the Midshipman. (SV) VG 24) MCU A-4C on #2 catapult, catapult officer giving a hold signal; PAN to A-4C being launched, leaving scene at right. F 25) MS Flight deck crew on deck, steam moving down deck in BG. F 26) MLS A-4C airborne after launch from #2 catapult. 27) MS F-4B taxiing over deck, A-4C in BG, A-4C is launched and leaves scene at right, F-4B continues taxiing in mid FG. F
