1) CU Two recruits, in dress blues, rolling a necker chief, one man tying a square knot for his buddy while standing next to brick bldg. G 2) CU Two recruits, one trying on a pea coat, man to R hands him a pair of rubber boots, shoes and poncho; sailor puts poncho over his head; man puts on cartridge belt, picks up rifle and goes thru "Manual of Arms". 3) CU Recruits,in civilian clothing,standing at attention, running in place, while in ranks. 4) CU Sailor standing before a group of recruits in civies while they practice saluting. SV DA 5) CU Front view, recruits saluting. 6) MS Two groups, one in civies, the other in uniform marking time and marching towards camera. 7) MCU Rear view, recruits in civilian clothing marching outside of the barracks. 8) MS Recruits in uniform. SV DA 9) CU Recruits in civies watching sailors marching. 10) CU Faces of young recruits; two men eating from plates in their laps. 11) CU Sailor, in whites, wearing large white apron. 12) CU Mess cook displaying some of food that is fed to recruits; cooks putting meat into grinder, adding eggs; cook turning crank by hand; cook rolling meat to make a meatloaf, places it in pan and then in oven. SV of cooks preparing food and of the cooked food. 13) CU Food being served. 14) CU Cook drawing coffee from pots; sign reading "Quickest Way to Reach a Man's Heart is Through His Stomach"; men getting plates, receiving food while in chow line. 15) CU Mess cooks standing at mess line. 16) CU Men moving thru the open air mess line, leaving scene off to R; some of food is in baskets.
