FIGHT AGAINST COMMUNICABLE DISEASES Part 1

Description

On activities of PHS Communicable Disease Centers. Shows a little polio victim watching a basketball game, close-ups of patients suffering from other diseases, insects that carry disease, and contaminated food and water. A patient is unloaded from an ambulance at a hospital. PHS personnel work in a laboratory, gather and test flies, and try new methods of fly extermination. PHS officials plan campaigns against disease with local officials, spray insecticides from aircraft, check children for dysentery, and train local officials in disease prevention techniques. Shows disease areas and close-ups of a PHS laboratory.
