A Commission of 7 Generals tries the 8 men who face either the firing squad or hangman's noose. 2. DARWIN BOMBED: AUSTRALIA - Dozens of Jap planes sweep over Darwin and other north Australian points, dropping destruction on many homes and stores. This wanton attack on non-military objectives is characteristic of Jap warfare. War workers save part of oil supply. 3. ADMIRAL NIMITZ DECORATED: WASHINGTON, D.C. - In recognition of meritorious service in connection with his Coral Sea and Marshall Island victories, Admiral Chester Nimitz receives the Distinguished Service Medal from Admiral King. Fellow officers also congratulate the Commander in Chief of the Pacific Fleet on his historic exploits. 4. NAVY RELIEF $5,000,000 RICHER: WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Navy Relief Society is $5,000,000 better off as Clarence Dillon, Chairman of The Citizen's National Committee, hands Secretary Knox a check for that amount. 5. LIDICE REBORN IN ILLINOIS: LIDICE, IL - Stern Park Gardens, a small housing project near Joliet, IL, is rechristened Lidice, in honor of the small Czech village that was razed by Nazi brutality in revenge for the death of hangman Heydrich. Wendell Willkie tells 35,000 the new Lidice is a world symbol of free men. 6. BOMBER PLANT ALMOST READY: MIDWEST - A great monument to American genius for mass production nears completion. This new Henry Ford enterprise will soon be turning out bombers that will make mass attacks on enemy strongholds an everyday affair. 7. ALLIED CONVOY BATTLES: MEDITERRANEAN - Amazing pictures of the great air-sea battle between an Allied Convoy to Malta, and Axis forces. Allied guns fill the air with bursting steel, that brings many Nazi and Italian aircraft to sudden destruction. Allied marksmen thwart suicide attack of Italian torpedo plane. (LOCAL – ??)
