TEEN-AGE BOYS RUSH TO COLORS: NEW YORK CITY - Following the President's message to Congress about the necessity of lowering the draft age to 18, thousands of young men rush to the enlistment headquarters in Grand Central Palace to line up for the duration. 2. CONVOY TO RUSSIA GETS THROUGH: Huge United Nations convoy is attacked by Nazis' bombers off Scandinavian north capes. A terrific battle ensues, but the enemy is finally driven off. 3. GREATEST TAX BILL IN HISTORY: WASHINGTON, D.C. - With the greatest tax bill in the history of the United States about to be passed, Senator George and Congressman Doughton speak for the men who have labored to keep the nation's economy sound. 4. FLOOD WATER MENACES CAPITAL: WASHINGTON, D.C. - Swollen by excessive autumnal rains, the old Potomac overruns its banks--and the gravest flood in Washington's history threatens the national capital, and leaves 2,000 homeless in nearby Maryland and Virginia. 5. DECKHOUSE CRASHES ON SHIP: VANCOUVER, WA - When the rigging snapped, a 3-story pre-fabricated deckhouse that was being lowered on to a new Liberty Ship crashed, but did little damage except to the deckhouse. 6. MEET SERGEANT BUDDY BARKER: SOMEWHERE-IN-AUSTRALIA - First Aussie to join the American Army is Buddy Barker, a dog…who is ceremoniously elevated to a sergeant-cy PDQ as a reward for his victorious all-out offensive against the camp mice. 7. IRISH UPSET HIGH-FLYING SEAHAWKS: SOUTH BEND, IN - A scrappy Notre Dame team refuses to be impressed by the superior record of a mighty Iowa Pre-Flight eleven, and goes on to upset the dope by a score of 28-0.
