Description
The original release sheet reads: 1. CAPTAIN DON GENTILE, SUPER-ACE: IN ENGLAND - A P-51 swoops to earth and smartly races to a precision stop. Scores of air force personnel race up to the plane. The cockpit slides back, and smiling Don Gentile, Captain in the USAAF looks out.—Looking like a movie star, he personifies all that an air ace should. He takes the microphone and simply recites how he had bagged three more Nazi planes—how he had "scrap-pooseled" one of them to defeat.—Now his bag is thirty, and the youth of the nation have a new air hero.—EISENHOWER DECORATES: U.S. FIGHTER BASE IN BRITAIN - General Eisenhower pins the D.S.C. on Captain Don Gentile and his fighter Group Commander, Colonel Blakeslee, and compliments them for their manly feats. 2. YANK'S ITALIAN EASTER: FIFTH ARMY FRONT - A two-hour Easter armistice enables the Yanks to observe Easter properly. Impressive Catholic and Protestant services are held, boys pray in their fox holes—and the entire proceedings are projected across No Man's Land, for German ears. 3. ITALIAN REFUGEE PROBLEM: The Allied Control Commission humanely handles the thousands of pathetic refugees who require clothing, food and bivouac until the tides of war roll by. 4. THE SEDITION TRIALS: WASHINGTON, D.C. - The case of the U.S. Government vs. 30 assorted defendants (accused of conspiring to overthrow the United States for a Nazi set-up, largely by insidious activity among our military forces) comes to bar.—The defendants are a virile lot, all coolly aware of the serious charges against them--excepting Mrs. Louis de Lafayette Washburn of Chicago. She fascist salutes so much that the others avoid her.—As the trial opens, history is made, for this is the largest number of defendants ever arraigned in an American sedition trial. 5. MASS PRODUCTION: MEDICAL CENTER, N.Y.C. - Mrs. Zarief and her new quadruplets meets Mrs. Bachant and her new triplets. When the noise subsides, Mrs. Van Coutren presents a handful of bonds to the babies, to open "Buy a Bond for Baby" Campaign. 6. TEXAS SKY SHOOTING: FORT BLISS, TX - Anti-Aircraft Artillery trainees use latest equipment to shoot down blazing rocket targets at night. 7. JOAN KENLEY BLOUSES: N.Y.C. - (Exclusive) Washable hand-painted blouses are introduced at the Waldorf-Astoria by Joan Kenley. We watch the artists paint them—then learn that the picture blouses come in a diversity of styles, and are priced about the same as a man's shirt (without pictures). 8. GRANDMA'S FUNERAL: POLO GROUNDS, N.Y.C. - Thousands of New York office boys attend "grandma's funeral" as the New York Giants trim the Boston Braves 2 to 1 in National Baseball League opener in big town. (LOCAL – CANADA) HONOR RCAF AT VANCOUVER. (LOCAL – CANADA) FLAT TOPS FITTED OUT.
