Description

The original release sheet reads: 1. UNDERWATER ATOM BLAST/"Baker Day" At Operation Crossroads!: BIKINI LAGOON - First pictures of the underwater atom blast! Even more spectacular than the first Bikini bomb test, these awe-inspiring films show the spectacular geyser of water that shoots up into the sky for over a mile, enveloping the "guinea pig" fleet in billowing masses of water and steam. When salvage vessels enter the lagoon, a battleship and a carrier have been sunk, and several smaller ships are resting on the bottom. See these dramatic highlights of "Baker Day" in Operation Crossroads! 2. JAP FILM OF HIROSHIMA BLAST: JAPAN - These captured pictures show the immediate after-effect of the atom bomb that blasted Hiroshima and killed or wounded about 70,000 persons. Other pictures taken a year after the explosion are also seen in this U.S. Strategic Bombing Survey report on the blast damage. (LOCAL – CANADA) FDR SHRINE UNVEILED.
