Description
The original release sheet reads: 1. NEW YORK TENEMENT DISASTER: NEW YORK - Eight are known dead, thirty-eight injured, and many others still missing following the collapse of a tenement house building. Firemen and police, using cranes and other equipment, fight their way through the wreckage to rescue survivors. 2. ARMY PLANE CRASH LANDS: WASHINGTON, D.C. - When one landing gear won't come down, the pilot of this B-25 Mitchell bomber brings her down to a neat one-wheel landing, without injuries to crew. The plane is slightly damaged. 3. HOOVER AIDS GREEK RELIEF: NEW YORK - The former President—now honorary chairman of the Greek Relief fund drive—appeals for funds to help a former ally recover from war's wounds. Starving Greek children need your help, he says. 4. SCIENCE AIDS FISHERMEN: BRITISH COLUMBIA - When Canadian fishermen stalk the finny herring in coastal waters, war-time sound devices are used to locate the hidden schools. The 1946 catch is setting new records—thanks to science. 5. FIRST FOOT-BOWL GAME: TOLEDO - In perfect football weather, a gala throng attends inaugural classic in the Glass Bowl, and sees the Toledo "Rockets" burst over the hitherto unbeaten Bates eleven from Maine. Final score: 21-12. 6. CARDINAL'S XMAS PARTY: NEW YORK - Little children at the N.Y. Foundling Home are entertained at a Christmas Party given by Cardinal Spellman. The choir boys from St. Vincent Ferrer's sing carols for the young orphans.
