Description

The original release sheet reads: 1. U.S. HAILS ARMY DAY: Army Day has renewed significance for all Americans in this year of uncertain peace. Dramatic pictures of what might happen here and what our Army is doing to keep the peace are shown in this thrilling Army Day salute, entitled "Preamble to Peace." 2A/B/C. COPS NAB WALL ST. PICKETS: NEW YORK - Police and striking financial workers clash at the entrance to the Stock Exchange, following "lie-down" tactics of picketers. Several are injured and scores arrested for disorderly conduct. / CHURCHILL CHRISTENING: ENGLAND - The center of attraction is not Winston Churchill this time, but his two-mo.-old grandson, an early initiation into Churchillian fun-poking during christening. / "BUSHMAN" HAS BIRTHDAY: CHICAGO - It's cake and candles for the Lincoln Park gorilla. While keepers keep close watch, Bushman goes through the motions of celebrating his 20th, toying with his cake and throwing his 550 pounds around. 3. YOUNG MEN OF DISTINCTION: NEW YORK - Designed specially for the discerning young man of four or five, these Aladdin fashions, inspired by the motion picture "All My Sons," give junior a look of jaunty ease and freedom of motion. 4. OILERS BEAT KENTUCKY COURTMEN: NEW YORK - Basketball provides thrills and excitement for 18,000-plus rabid fans, as the Phillips Oilers defeat the Kentucky stars in a 53-49 Olympic play-offs decision. Tied at half-time, the Oilers race to a last-minute lead. (LOCAL – CANADA) CANADA WELCOMES NEW CITIZENS. (LOCAL – CANADA) LITTLE RED SCHOOLHOUSE ON WHEELS.
