Description
The original release sheet reads: 1. REPUBLICAN CONVENTION / G.O.P. LEADERS MEET TO PICK CANDIDATE: PHILADELPHIA - (Special Release) Will it be Dewey? Taft? Stassen? Or a “Dark Horse” candidate? Green of Illinois attacks Truman administration and predicts a G.O.P. landslide in November. 2A/B. U.N. GUARDS FLY TO ZION: NEW YORK - The United Nation's first international police force—49 men bound for Palestine to help protect the truce—pose just prior to departure by plane for the Holy Land. The volunteers, from seven countries, carry revolvers but no ammunition. / MISS PRESS PHOTOGRAPHER: ATLANTIC CITY - Against picturesque hotel pool background, lovely and scantily-clad lassies strut their stuff for the judges in the annual "Photogs" beauty contest.
