Description
The original release sheet reads: 1. KING LIES IN STATE: LONDON - The funeral train bearing the mortal remains of King George Sixth arrives in the British capital from Sandringham. Hundreds of thousands of devout subjects sorrowly watch as the casket, escorted by Guardsmen and borne on a gun carriage, is carried to Westminster Hall, to lie in state. Three Queens stand in silent grief. 2A/B. FLOODS RAVAGE FRANCE: FRANCE - Still further floods add to the toll of death and destruction caused by a winter of heavy rains. Southwest France is inundated in many areas, as swollen rivers flowing down from the hills cause terrible havoc. / SCOUTS AID NAVY CEREMONY: SAN FRANCISCO - As climax to their 42nd Anniversary celebration, Boy Scouts lend their motto "Be Prepared" to the recommissioning of the carrier "Intrepid." A replica of the Liberty Bell is presented to the famous fighting ship. 3A/B. JAPAN BILLIARD QUEEN: SACRAMENTO - Masako Katsuro demonstrates her cue artistry to members of the Air Force at Mather Field. Married to an AF Sergeant, Masako proves amazingly adept in her 3-cushion shots and other billiard beauties. / WESTMINSTER DOG SHOW: NEW YORK - A Doberman, Ch. Rancho Dobe's Storm, walks off with "Best of Show" honors at 76th Westminster Kennel Club show at Madison Square Garden. Over 2,400 canines are entered, and spectator interest runs high as judging ends. 4. SONG FOR BROTHERHOOD WEEK - The National Council of Christians and Jews enlist the help of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein, famous composing team, in setting the mood of Brotherhood Week. A Rodgers-Hammerstein tune, "You've Got To Be Carefully Taught" is the theme song for the week.
