NEW UN COMMANDER - General Mark Clark takes over command of United Nations forces in Korea, as General Matthew Ridgway leaves to take over NATO forces in Europe, succeeding General Eisenhower. General Ridgway says farewell to unit chiefs and General Clark greets his new command. 2A/B/C. NEW JET GIANT: FORT WORTH, TX - The Air Force takes the wraps off its new eight-jet B-60 bomber. Details are secret but its first public flight is impressive. / TRAIN TRAGEDY: COLLEGE PARK, MD - Fifteen cars of ninety-seven car freight train are strewn over the main Washington-New York tracks. Naptha laden cars cause a spectacular blaze. / TRIPLETS MEET: NEW JERSEY - Forty-five sets of triplets from eighty-four to eleven months gather at Palisades Park and the result is three cheers. 3A/B/C. AUSTRIAN CHANCELLOR: NEW YORK - Chancellor Leopold Figl pays a visit to say thanks for U.S. aid to Austria, but also says no separate peace treaty will be signed. / WORLD MOTHER: NEW YORK - Madame Rosa Videla, first lady of Chile is honored for her work in child welfare as Mother of the World. Also singled out by the American Mother's Committee is Mrs. Toy Len Goon of San Francisco named American Mother of 1952. / HERO SKIPPER: PARIS - Captain Kurt Carlsen, doughty skipper of the Flying Enterprise comes in for some kid hero worship as he visits Paris after his first crossing in the Flying Enterprise II. 4. FRENCH FASHIONS: PARIS - Paris in the spring spurs the couturiers to some efforts that give milady's figure the full French treatment. 5. JEEPERS CREEPERS: YAKIMA, WA - Jeepers but no creepers are these jeep jockies who dash around the ridges. It takes a good man to stick under these conditions.
