Description

The original release sheet reads: 1. SPOTLIGHT ON AVIATION - A dual-purpose plant in Kansas City produces automobiles and jet planes on assembly lines side by side. The first F-84-F Thunderstreak jet emerges from the plant ready for testing. In France, the finest in European-designed planes do their stuff at a thrilling air show at Le Bourget. At Fort Bragg, N. C., 1,008 paratroopers hit the silk in the biggest mass jump in history. 2. CALIFORNIA'S JUNIOR MISS - One hundred of the state's prettiest junior misses from four to six parade for the judges at Long Beach in their best finery. Jane Ruble, four, cops the title of Miss California Junior. 3. MILLION DOLLAR BABY - In New York, fashion designers show what can be done when you want to dress Milady expensively . . . a dress at $400, shoes at $50, jewels $500,000 and furs $25,000. And oh, yes, a hat at $500 and a bag at $100. It all adds up to a fancy figure! 4. MISS UNIVERSE LOVELIES SIGHT-SEEING IN NEW YORK - Fifteen candidates for the title of Miss Universe, representing their nations, see the Statue of Liberty and the skyline from atop the Empire State Bldg. Then to Radio City . . . and an appreciative whistle from Ed Herlihy. 5. RIP ROARIN' RODEO: RENO, NEVADA - The going is rough as bronchs and brahmas toss their riders with abandon. What do they care for broken bones?
