Description

The original release sheet reads: 1. TRUCE IN KOREA: AT PANMUNJOM - The signing of a truce agreement by U.N. and Communist negotiators marks an end to 3 years of bitter combat. The Red aggressors hold less territory than before their troops marched, but the cost to both sides has been fearful. Neutral observers arrive to oversee the armistice, as in Washington, President Eisenhower formally announces the truce to America, and counsels against over-optimism in the face of the major problems that remain. 2A/B/C. SILVER STAR MEDAL: NEW YORK - Ceremonies posthumously awarding the Silver Star medal to Sergeant Raymond Taylor are a grim reminder that for many, the truce came too late. / NATO AIR SHOW: HOLLAND - Spectacular films of the Western nations' mightiest fighting planes, on review as the Dutch air force marks its 40th year. / BULL FOLDING: SPAIN - Pamplona's annual mid-summer madness, as the men lock horns with the bulls, en route to the ring, in a mad dash through the streets. 3. CONGRESS REPEALS MOVIE TAX: WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Noah Mason, sponsor of a bill to repeal the 20% tax on movie admissions, comments on the passage of his bill, which now awaits Presidential action. 4. CHIMP BEATS THE HEAT: CALIFORNIA - Jerry the chimp beats the heat with a romp in a backyard pool. Unlike most Chimps, Jerry likes the water—and there's foul play when he drags in Mary, a duck that doesn't.
