Description

The original release sheet reads: 1. U.N. TROOPS TAKE SUEZ POSTS - The long-awaited arrival of United Nations police troops injects a new note into the trouble spot of the Middle East. Truce observers keep a close eye for violations of the cease fire in Egypt as the UN forces, wearing distinguishing arm bands, take up their posts. 2. HUNGARIAN REFUGEES WELCOMED: THE NETHERLANDS - Like every country in the free world, Holland opens its doors and hearts of refugees fleeing from their ravaged homeland. 1300 will be offered new lives, and new hope, in little Holland. 3A/B/C. MISSILE-LAUNCHING SUBMARINE: AT SEA - Two key instruments of modern war, guided missiles and long-range subs, are joined in a new weapons system. The "Regulus" missile extends the Navy's striking potential far inland, anywhere in the world. / FAMED JURIST IS HONORED: NEW YORK - The late Chief Justice Charles Evans Hughes, a founder of the National Conference of Christians and Jews, is honored at a ceremony establishing "Charles Evans Hughes Hall" in the home of the Brotherhood. / CHRISTMAS IS COMING!: SEATTLE - The big northwest city once again is first to get Santa off to an early start. The season is officially underway as thousands turn out to watch a spectacular parade of storybook balloons and of course, Santa! 4A/B. THE PIGSKIN PARADE — TENNESSEE-MISSISSIPPI: KNOXVILLE - Clinching a bowl bid and retaining its ranking as one of the nation's top teams, Tennessee turns back Mississippi after trailing early in the game to win, 27-7. / YALE-PRINCETON: NEW HAVEN - The Yale Bowl is jammed as the Elis live up to their potential, administering a startling 42-20 pounding to Princeton. Long runs, nifty aerials, and new plays enliven the classic Ivy League game.
