Description
The original release sheet reads: 1. The supply is so plentiful that men dive into the water and invoke a new means of angling, catching them in their hands. One over-zealous Ike Walton discovers an odd method — he lands one in his mouth. 3. SOUTHWEST INDIANS MEET TO CELEBRATE ANNUAL TRIBAL RITES: ALBUQUERQUE, NM - More than 5,000 Apache, Navajo and Zuni gather in the greatest single conference of Indians in history. Led by Gov. Seligman a colorful pageant of the nation’s opens the event, climaxed by a series of native dances. Despite the inroads of civilization, savage ancestry is apparent in the weird customs and ceremonies. NEWS PARAGRAPHS: 4. Many are led to the beach’s edge but they will not take to the drink, so Army discipline is enlisted and they are dumped in, with a dampening effect on equine dignity. The measure is enforced to animals will be able to save themselves in the event of a disaster as sea. 8. MAYORS OF 4 STATES MEET IN ATTEMPT TO AID STRIKE SITUATION: WHEELING, WV - Executives of many towns and cities of Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia gather in a parley with coal mine operators and labor leaders to arrange a settlement of the desperate problem. State police on duty guard the non-striking workers who keep the mines running. Relief kitchens issuing food to starving and needy families are shown the visiting municipal leaders to impress them with the urgent necessity for action. 9. U.S. GREETS ARRIVAL OF GIANT DO-X AFTER LONG-DELAYED FLIGHT: MIAMI, FL - The largest airplane in the world is cheered by thousands on completing the jump from South America, after a stop-over in revolution-torn Cuba. The commanders of the ship are acclaimed here as they reach port, for a break in the hop to New York.
