Atlas in Orbit! Radio's President Eisenhower's Message of Peace to… (Universal Newsreel, Dec 1958)
Description
The original release sheet reads: 1. ATLAS IN ORBIT! RADIO'S PRESIDENT EISENHOWER'S MESSAGE OF PEACE TO THE WORLD - Launched from Cape Canaveral, a giant Atlas ICBM soars aloft to bring U.S. scientists bountiful prestige. It is the largest satellite yet evolved–with its 8800 lb. bulk and the first one ever self-guided into orbit. The amazing Atlas broadcasts a tape recording by the President. A good-will message to the world in the pioneering testing of an incredible new space communications system. 2A/B. TORO TERRORIZES TORERO - At a charity bullfight event in Madrid, El Toro throws away the script in his appearance against Dominguin. He is one of Espana's great matadors and an unorthodox rough-house performance is given. / GIANTS SHUT OUT BROWNS 10-0 - At Yankee Stadium, the N.Y. Giants play unbeatable pro football against the Browns in the Playoff for the Eastern grid Championship. As the line holds Cleveland powerless, Triplett, Gifford and Conerly click in a razzle-dazzle double-reverse touchdown play, followed by Summerall's field goal, for more than enough to win.
