Description

The original release sheet reads: 1. BRUSSELS FAIR NEW ARENA for EAST-WEST RIVALRY - Highlights of Brussels' opulent World's Fair, in which international-industrial pavilions vie to impress and awe the countless visitors from all over the world. A Thai temple, tiny and elegant is dwarfed by the great structures of the U.S.S.R. and the U.S.A., where the Cold War rivalry is crystallized into a battle of showmanship. 2. FIRE IN MUSEUM OF MODERN ART - Masterpieces of modern art, a priceless collection is menaced by a spectacular fire in New York. Quick work on the part of firemen averts disaster. One person dies. About 30 are injured. All but a few canvases are rescued. 3. ROBOT'S RHAPSODY - In France, three robots stage an odd and perhaps somewhat ominous concert, bringing automation to the art of melody. The metallic trio performs in nimble style, the accordionist even smoking a cigarette as he plays! 4A/B. NCAA GYMNASTIC CHAMPIONSHIPS - At East Lansing, Michigan, highlights of the 16th Annual NCAA Gymnastic Championships, with fine performances on the rope climb, the trampoline and the horizontal bar, as Illinois and Michigan State reach an unprecedented tie. / BASEBALL HISTORY IN THE MAKING - In New York, where the Polo Grounds and Ebbets Field are tenanted only by ghosts and memories - the Giants are hailed by their new home town-San Francisco. In the first big league regular season game ever played on the West Coast, proceed to trounce the Los Angeles Dodgers 8-0!
