PAINTING DRAWS RECORD CROWD AT MUSEUM The Metropolitan Museum of Art plays host to a record-breaking crowd of 82,000 as their latest acquisition, a Rembrandt goes on exhibition. Bought for a record $2,300,000, it is the latest "must see" attraction in New York. QUEEN ENDS GHANA TOUR Queen Elizabeth is treated to a huge display of native dancing as she ends her visit to Ghana, a former possession that is now an independent member of the British Commonwealth. "FLOWER DRUM SONG" IN GALA PREMIERES The motion picture version of the smash Broadway musical opens in New York City at the famed Music Hall to critical acclaim. There's also a benefit performance in San Francisco where some of the picture was made. SPORTS ALABAMA DEFEATS GEORGIA TECH - 10-0 The Crimson Tide rolls up its ninth straight game and moved nearer to the Rose Bowl in defeating Goergia Tech 10-0.
