Description
The original release sheet reads: DRUG DANGER: STIFFER U.S. LAWS URGED BY KENNEDY The problem of tighter controls to prevent the distribution of dangerous drugs such as THALIDOMIDE is a matter of concern to the President at his News Conference. He outlines the steps the government plans to take. MOSLEY GROUP SPARKS BRITISH RIOTS Sir Oswald Mosley and his Union Movement can start a riot in England at the drop of a slogan. In Manchester, and later in London, his neo-Fascist group are heckled and mobbed by those who believe more in Democracy rather than Totalitarianism. THE HUFF-PUFF BUFFS GET UP STEAM Railroad fans who won't let memories of the old steam locomotives die - have a gala outing in Quebec and shoot their heads off - with cameras - on the 200-mile excursion (steam driven, of course). TWENTY-FIVE YEARS AGO BENITO MUSSOLINI was riding the crest of his power as he's hailed b 50,000 women. 8 years later he died in the hands of a lynch mob. The social event of the year was the wedding of FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT, JR., and ETHEL DuPONT. The guest list read like Who's Who. DELMAR RACETRACK (partly owned by Bing Crosby) was opened and interest in celebrities almost outran interest in the horses. FADS...we always have with us and 25 years-ago it was PADDIE-BALL - a novelty that really never died.
