Description

The original release sheet reads: BLOCKADE LIFTED: PRESIDENT REVEALS RED PLANE PULL OUT At his first news conference since the beginning of the Cuban crisis, President Kennedy lifts the U.S. Naval blockade of Cuba after Khrushchev gives his pledge that Soviet bombers will be out of Cuba in 30 days. PEACE OR WAR? CHINA TALKS TRUCE - INDIA MASSES TROOPS The Red Chinese feeler of a cease-fire drew immediate skepticism in India as that country continued to build up its troops on the northern frontier. Premier Nehru reviews territorial troops who are joining the regular army at the front. FASHION PARADE In these days of high taxes, many of Britain's stately homes and castles have been opened to tourists, but Highclere Castle has been moved a step further as a high fashion show brightens its grey, cold walls. MILTON RACKMIL HONORED BY MOVIE PIONEERS The Motion Picture Pioneers, those associated with movies for more than 25 years, honor THE PRESIDENT OF UNIVERSAL PICTURES as "THE PIONEER OF THE YEAR." His 88-year-old father is on hand as MR. RACKMIL receives a plaque and tells the Pioneers that the movies are going forward to greater heights of leadership.
