Description

The original release sheet reads: KENNEDY TRIP: IRISH ROAR WELCOME AFTER GERMAN VISIT As President Kennedy continues his working visit to Europe he visits an outpost of free men and democracy-West Berlin. The East Germans blocked off the Brandenburg Gate with Red Banners to block the president's view as he visits the wall of hate. Later, before city hall, 150,000 jam the square to hear the president say that "all free men, wherever they are, are citizens of Berlin." From the tumult and frenzy of Berlin to the quiet pool of Ireland, his next stop. No matter that he is three generations removed from the old sod...the Irish say a native son has returned. WORLD PREMIERE "A GATHERING OF EAGLES" The Strategic Air Command base in Omaha is the scene for a gathering of the press. They are greeted by Mary Peach, of of the co-stars of "A Gathering of Eagles" - the new picture starring Rock Hudson. They see the master switchboard connecting SAC Bases around the world before going to Chicago for the world premiere of the new film that is set against a SAC background. NEW YORK FAIR RISES: WORK SPEEDED ON '64 SPECTACLE A magic city is rising from the Meadows in Flushing-a fairyland that will become the New York World's Fair in 1964. The '64 fair is on the site of the famed exposition of 1939-1940, but boasts space-age improvements like a heliport. For groundlings, special trains will unload at the main entrance and an elaborate network of roads promises no traffic jams.
