Description

The original release sheet reads: BERLIN WALL: RIOTS MARK IT'S SECOND ANNIVERSARY West Berliners honor those who died fleeing to freedom as they mark the second anniversary of the wall of hate that splits the city. The observance is quiet until nightfall when riots erupt as two thousand call for the end of the barrier. From the Friedrichstrasse to Moritzplatz it's an angry demonstration. FLOOD HARASS PAKISTAN AND INDIA Pakistan has had two months of cyclones and heavy rains on the heels of the tidal wave that took 10,000 lives two months ago. A new disaster has compounded the misery around Chittagong. In India the seasonal monsoon has flooded the Bombay area and many rail lines are cut. A WHALE OF A STORY The New York City Aquarium at Coney Island has an underwater show that is the hit of the famed amusement resort. Tankman Bill Flynn is the foster father to a pair of whales and he serves lunch to his charges beneath the water. It's a show that draws crowds to the observation chamber. SPORTS STAN "THE MAN" MUSIAL TO RETIRE One of baseball's immortals is leaving the game after the current season. In a career that spanned 22 years with the St. Louis Cardinals, Stan Musial set scores of records, but was admired most for his sportsmanship and acute sense of fair play. WATER SKI CHAMPS MEET IN EUROPE The sport has been raised to the status of keenly competitive events and the best Europe has to offer jump into competition at Frankfurt, Germany. One contestant even jumps without skiis-but that's not allowed, you know.
