The original release sheet reads: ITALIAN PRESIDENT ON STATE VISIT President Antonio Segni of Italy is welcomed to the United States as he arrives on a State Visit. The Italian President emphasized in his statements that he was seeking closer ties between a unified Europe, including Great Britain, and the United States. After conferences with President Johnson at the White House he went to President Kennedy's grave to honor the martyred leader. STORM CLEAN- UP From the Mid- West to the Eastern Seaboard, the winter's worst snow storm threw an icicle into the wheels of progress. As the near-blizzard blows out to sea the back-breaking job of digging out is begun. Family cars are rescued, side-walks and streets are cleared and once more traffic, trains and planes begin to move. MRS. KENNEDY EXTENDS THANKS In her first public statement since President Kennedy's assassination, Mrs. Jacqueline Kennedy thanks the hundreds of thousands who sent her expressions of sympathy. She promises to acknowledge each one no matter how long it takes. SNOW FASHIONS When they hand out the Olympic Games Gold Medals these fashions look like winners. Inspired by the official Olympic travel uniforms and parade blues they dress up the slopes at Stratton Mountain in Vermont. In front of the fire later, Burlington manipulates the strings as the gals model actionwear that makes everything about skiing so delightful. SURFBOARD CHAMPIONSHIPS Just what the doctor ordered for those of us who are being nipped by winter's breezes. At Makaha Beach in Hawaii it's the world surboard championships with Midget Farelly of Australia defending his title. Heavy seas push in 25- foot waves and when the commotion dies it's Joe Cabell who brings the title back to the U.S.
