Description
The original release sheet reads: DE GAULLE HAILED IN SOUTH AMERICA On the first lap of his 20,000 mile South American tour, President Charles De Gaulle of France is acclaimed by the populaces of Venezuala, Columbia and Ecuador. Tight security marks the progress of the French leader because of th known presence in South America of former French-Algerian colonists, many of whom are dedicated to his destruction. De Gaulle, though he will be 74 in November, shows no fear and goes among the people with soldiery unconcern. In his talks to the South Americans, he asks for better political ties and greater economic co-operation. ROYAL WEDDING IN JAPAN The latest royal romance in Japan. The marraige of Prince Yoshi, the younger son of Emperor Hirohito and Empress Nagato, to Miss Hanako Tsugaru, a descendent of one of Japan's oldest, noble families. The new airplane carries deadly air-to-air missile and is said to be the highest flying and fastest jet known to exist. It's top speed is said to be 2,500 miles per hour. It can reach an altitude of one-hundred-thousand feet. SPORTS DAVIS CUP FINALS The Davis Cup drama at Cleveland is climaxed when Australia's Roy Emerson and Chuck McKinley of the United States duel across the net.
