Description

The original release sheet reads: CEASE-FIRE BRINGS CALM TO DOMINICAN REPUBLIC As United States Marine forces patrol the perimeter of the International zone in Santo Domingo a five-man team from the Organization of American States successfully negotiates a precarious cease-fire. Wild fighting has ceased, but political maneuvering for power goes on. Death still stalks the streets of Santo Domingo. Two more Marines reported killed the day the truce went into effect. SMUGGLED EQUIPMENT TAKEN IN VIETNAM A South Vietnamese attack on a Red Vietcong stronghold south of Saigon results in a rich prize...a great cache of arms - the largest ever uncovered, following a battle. An international Control Commission inspects the weapons. Some of the most modern Communist weapons yet captured. SPORTS CURTAIN GOIN UP ON "500" They've begun the count-down at Indianapolis as they tune up for the famous "Five Hundred." Pretty girls and fine floats inaugurate the series of events that will be climaxed by the big race. "Sweet Sixteen" is the first car to make a shake-down run and Len Sutton hopes he will have it right in the camera's eye for this year again. MCA closed-circuit television will carry the race to theatres and arenas around the country. BRITAIN'S WORLD SERIES (SOCCER) Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip head 100,000 fans at Wembley for the Cup Final...the biggest day on the English sporting scene. The game proves to be a cliff-hanger right from the opening whistle. No one scores during the regular time, but in overtime Liverpool manages two goals to defeat Leeds who can score but a single goal.
