MERMAIDS TRY OUT SKI RUN: VENICE, CA - After bracing ride on rubber sharks towed behind a motorboat in the blue Pacific, a bevy of good-looking sand sirens hops into an automobile and journeys up to Lake Arrowhead, high in the mountains, for skiing and bob-sledding in the snow. 2. ANCIENT CULTURE UNEARTHED: SPIRO, OK - A priceless cache of prehistoric Indian implements, ornaments and money is discovered in a mound. Scientists are still uncertain of the dim age in which some Native American artists made the remarkable relics. 3A/B. TOWNSEND CAMPAIGN BEGINS: WASHINGTON, D.C. - Dr. Townsend discusses the workings of his scheme to pay old age pensions of $200 a month to everybody. Congressmen Celler attacks the plan in a vigorous demand that the proposal be halted. 4. WINTER GARBS BIG CASCADE: NIAGARA FALLS, NY - A sheath of glittering ice forms from the spray of the great waterfall as frozen blocks jam the Niagara River, hindering the flow of water. Jack Frost paints a cold but beautiful picture at the famed spot. 5. Ambulances carry off the injured following a clash at the same owner’s plant at Jeffersonville, IN. 7. BABY GIRL ENJOYS CORONAS: GLENDALE, CA - Patsy Grimmett is only two and a half, but she finds a big cigar adds to her fun as she plays with her doll. Smoking since she was a year old, the tot has graduated from the sissified cigarette. 8.
