BATHING GALS TAKE TO SKIS: BERTHOUND PASS, CO - (Exclusive) The Continental Divide warms up after a heavy snowfall, so the summer sirens, clad in skimpy bathing suits, get out skis and snowshoes for a romp among the sparkling crystals. 3. MODELS SHOW INTIMATE WEAR: CHICAGO, IL - (Exclusive) Pretty mannequins at the Merchandise Mart exhibit the Fall season’s cutest offerings in negligees, nighties and abbreviated underthings in a revealing parade of fashion. 5. SWEDE HOPS, BARONESS LEFT: NEW YORK CITY - Kurt Bjorkvall, taciturn Swedish flier, takes off for his native land on a 4,300-mile ocean hop, but his fair-haired flying-partner, talkative Baroness Eve von Bixen-Finecke is left behind. Bjorkvall lands in the sea off the Irish coast and is picked up by a French trawler. (SPECIAL) YANKEE SLUGGERS ANNEX WORLD SERIES (Pre-Released; Shipped Separately to All Accounts): NEW YORK CITY - With the score standing at three games for the Yanks to two for the Giants, Gotham’s Nickel Series goes into the sixth encounter. The revived National Leaguers slam into Lefty Gomez for two runs in the first inning. But the Yanks stiffen in their half of the second, with Powell rapping out the first homer of the game, scoring Selkirk and tying the score. From then on, Yankee rooters have plenty to root about, for the American League champions tear into the Giants with vim, vigor and vicious slugging that ends in a hailstorm of hits in the ninth inning, bringing in seven additional runs. The Yanks take the sixth game, 13 to 5, and capture the series. Dramatic pictures clearly show the progress of the game. (LOCAL – NEW YORK) BIG TORCH-LIGHT PARADE STAGED BY JERSEY G.O.P. (LOCAL – NEW YORK) SWEETHEARTS OF THE SCREEN ON HONEYMOON.
