Description

The original release sheet reads: 1. RITES HELD FOR ZEP VICTIMS: NEW YORK CITY - Flags hang limply at half-mast as a huge crowd gathers for funeral ceremonies in memory of the persons who lost their lives in the explosion of the giant Hindenburg. The caskets are placed aboard the S.S. Hamburg for shipment home. 2A/B. F.D.R. ENDS FISHING JAUNT: GALVESTON, TX - The President lands from the Potomac, putting a happy ending to his short vacation. / AT COLLEGE STATION, TX - Chief Executive reviews R.O.T.C. cadets at Texas A.&M. College. 3. ELMER’S A REAL ONE-MAN BAND: NEW YORK CITY - (Exclusive) Elmer Trudgen, a Canadian farm-boy, shows Gotham that the One-Man Band is no longer imagination. He has a contraption that enables him to play the piano, violin, guitar, harmonica, bass drum, snare drum, triangle, wood blocks, cymbals, cowbells and chime—all at once! 4. LONDON BUSMEN GO ON STRIKE: LONDON, ENGLAND - On the very eve of Coronation festivities, busmen in the British capital knock transportation into a cocked hat by going on strike. The streets look deserted, and would-be-bus-passengers wear out shoe leather and ancient pavements. 5. FETE CONSTITUTION’S SIGNING: PHILADELPHIA, PA - Once again the Founding Fathers meet to frame a Constitution for these United States. Actors represent historic characters in a celebration of the great document’s hundred and fiftieth anniversary. 6. NEW DEVICE MARKS THE SPOT: SAN ANTONIO, TX - (Exclusive) Navigators on sea or land, or in the air, now can tell their position in less than a minute, no matter what atmospheric conditions may prevail. Vanderbilt launches his big, new Ranger, the yacht in which he hopes to defend the America’s Cup in races with T.O.M. Sopwith’s challenger during the coming summer. 8. BRIDES ADOPT QUEENLY AIR: HICAGO, IL - Dame Fashion’s decrees for the soon-bride-to-be are dazzlingly exhibited in a fashion show at the Edgewater Beach Hotel. The new models take a hint from the British Coronation and make much of regal splendor in their design. 9. JIM BRADDOCK LIMBERING UP: GRAND BEACH, MI - The heavyweight boxing champion shakes the kinks of inactivity from his muscles as he goes into training for his forthcoming bout with dusky Joe Louis. It will be the champ’s first fight since he won the title. 10. DEMON BUTTER WEARS MUZZLE: WAUKESHA, WI - (Exclusive) Dear old Prof. I.M. Nutts is in again, with a new device to take the viciousness out of the most untamed piece of butter that ever disgraced a table—or smeared your sleeves.
