The original catalog description provided by the Ford Motor Company reads as follows: “Turning a Club Spoke.” Close-up of lathe in operation, worker. “The Kiln where the spokes are kept at a temperature of 140° for 24 days.” Worker raking spokes from kiln onto conveyor. “Mitering Spokes.” Beveling machine in operation. “Facing Spokes.” Man operating machine. “Polishing Spokes, each machine will polish 40,000 per day.” Worker feeding spokes into polishing machine. “Equalizing.” Workers operating machines, cutting spokes to equal size, pegging ends. “Felloe Stock, strips of selected hickory, are steamed for two hours before bending.” Worker stoking fire, workers picking up strips of wood. “Bending eight Felloes in one operation.” Workers using press, placing Felloes into press. “Boring Spoke Holes.” Worker operating drill press - workers sanding hole edges - worker placing felloes onto conveyor. “Hammering Spokes into Felloe with Air Hammer.
