Man getting out of car in front of garage - talking to men inside. “‘How do you do -- my name is Allen.’” Men shaking hands. “‘Glad to know you, Sir, what can we do for you?’” “‘I see by the ad here that the Ford Motor Company is putting out an improved tractor.’” Men looking at ad. “‘Yes, Mr. Allen, the improved tractor has 17 important improvements. Let us step into the sales room where I can point out these new features to you.’” Two men inspecting tractor in showroom. “‘The engine of this tractor turns up to 30 horse power at 1,100 r.p.m. This is an increase of 27.5% over the former model.’” Dealer pointing out the above feature and those mentioned below. “Starting is made easy by the new high tension Bosch magneto, which is equipped with an impulse starter coupling.” “A coil spring in the coupling winds up during cranking, and just before the magneto is ready to deliver each spark, is released, giving the armature a quick turn.” “As soon as the engine starts, the impulse latch is thrown off. The impulse coupling also automatically retards the spark during cranking, thus eliminating any possibility of the engine kicking back.” “The governor can be adjusted to keep the speed constant under various loads, from 900 to 1,400 r.p.m.” “The capacity of the air washer has been increased from seven to seventeen quarts of water, ample for one days full run without refilling -- even in hot weather.” “This thoroughly removes all dust and foreign substances from the air supplied the fueling system.” [1930]
