WILD GEESE Part 2

Description

The original catalog description provided by the Ford Motor Company reads as follows: “Kingsville, Ontario, Canada. Canadian wild geese migrating to the far north to Jack Miner’s hospitality (600 bushels of corn and no shooting). Miner feeds the geese every year and thousands visit his farm.” Hundreds of geese in and around pond, buildings in background. “Very intelligent and always watchful of the intruder, the wild goose is difficult to approach and photograph. These pictures were obtained only after a great deal of patience (on the part of the geese) and persistence (on the part of the photographer).” Several views of geese in pond, on land, landing in pond, in the air - close-up of goose - gander near large open-ended barrel lying on its side, nest in barrel - man with dog approaching, gander chasing dog - close-up of gander, chasing dog - close-up of gander outside barrel, goose sitting on nest in barrel - man holding a bowl and feeding wild birds out of his hand, another man in hammock in background watching. “Sometimes Jasper, Jack’s little boy feeds the hungry red breasts.” Little boy hand feeding robins. “Meals are served at all hours and never a meal is missed for Mr. Robin is a very greedy boy.” Little boy hand feeding robins - robin sitting on boy’s head.
