The incident discloses a maze of brutal intrigue promoted by hooded followers of the secret society. 2. DOG AND ROOSTER MIX IT UP: PANAMA CITY, FL - Rusty the pup and Bully, a battling rooster, fight at the drop of the hat for the barnyard title. Each gives a good account of himself and both score “technical” victories without a knockout in a dozen engagements. 3. ACCLAIM AFRICAN WAR FLIER: CHICAGO, IL - Col. John C. Robinson, colored aviator who won renown fighting for the Ethiopians before Haile Selassie’s flight, returns to his home town in a blaze of glory. Thousands of members of his race give the war hero a rousing welcome. 4. DEVICE TESTS DRIVING SKILL: NEW YORK CITY - An unusual machine puts the subject through all the quirks of driving an automobile including a reaction test which shows how quickly a driver can put on the brakes when there is danger of an accident. 5. SEA LIONS HOLD CONVENTION: SEA LION CAVES, OR - Dozens of the furry marine beasts return to their old haunts for the mating season. High waves on an unruly sea give many of the animals a difficult time in their efforts to scale the rocks that line the coast. 6. GRADE CROSSINGS MADE SAFER: MASSAPEQUA, NY - An ingenious new barrier rises across the highway automatically when a train approaches a grade crossing. The novel device rings a gong and flashes warning lights as well as interposing its bulk to halt a car driven by a careless motorist. 7. RISK NECKS ON BOULDER LAKE: LAKE MEAD, NV - Surfboard enthusiasts zip over the surface of the big pond impounded by huge Boulder Dam. Motorboats speeding a fifty miles an hour pull the daring sportsmen through a majestic canyon framed by high mountains. 8. FIELDS BRIGHT WITH BLOOMS: PORT TOWNSEND, WA - Spreading acres of rhododendrons present a compelling view as the State’s flower bursts into orchid-hued radiance in time for the first annual festival. The Queen of the fete and her maids of honor gather the lovely blooms by the armful. 9. 5 DIE FIGHTING SCRUB FIRES: SOUTHERN NEW JERSEY is swept by raging scrub blazes over an area of eighty square miles. Five volunteers are trapped and burned to death in their attempts to halt the three-day conflagration which requires the efforts of 750 men and C.C.C. boys to subdue. 10. TAKES SWEEPS LUCK CALMLY: NEW YORK CITY - Sam Small hits the Irish Sweepstakes for the $150,000 first prize as Mahmoud wins the English Derby. He refuses to become excited over his good fortune, but his wife turns on the steam for the interviewing newsreel cameraman.
