Churchill and Eisenhower get into car, drive off. INVASION WW II.: Normandy, France: 07/1944: Tanks and soldiers entering town of Notre-Dame de Cemilly. MSs, soldiers searching prisoners. VS, dead Germans and wrecked equipment. VS, armored vehicles driving thru wrecked town of Periers. CU, sign: "Minen", near town of Seves. MS, CU, soldier removing antipersonnel mine from the ground. CU, new-type German mine (looks like C-ration can). DOMBASLE AND DOMPAIRE, FRANCE.: 09/14- 15/1944. MSs, M-4 tanks firing into Dombasle. MS, fires and explosions in the town. MSs, infantrymen advancing towards Dombasle. MSs, CUs, infantrymen ford deep, narrow stream. MSs, CUs, wrecked German tanks near Dompaire. CU, dead German in tank. MSs, CUs, German prisoners digging graves. Seq: German prisoners collect bodies of German dead, bring them to cemetery on oxcart. MSs, funeral of French soldier in cemetery.
