Summary: UH-1D copters fly over trees and head skyward. Smoke from signal grenade. Soldier directs copter to landing. BG Salve H Matheson, CG 101st Abn Bde, and party get off copter. They walk to briefing area. Officer at map briefs BG Matheson and party. CU, picture of Ho Chi Minh on the map. General's copter takes off. Soldier and Vietnamese interpreter looking over captured Vietcong weapons. They check map. Villagers of Xuan Vinh waiting outside hut for medical treatment. CU, children. Living quarters in resettlement area. Soldiers examine and treat children. Officer and interpreter interrogate a blindfolded Vietcong prisoner. American flag is raised on staff. LSs, mountainous terrain. AVs, mountains. Soldier prepares to open a can of C-rations. Soldiers unload mermite food containers from UH-1D and set up a mess line. VS, soldiers being served on outdoor mess line. Soldiers resting; others reading mail. LSs, jets attacking enemy positions in valley. Soldiers eating. Soldier reading a letter. LS, Pan mountainous country. Soldiers move out on patrol. They come under sniper fire and duck for cover and deploy. LSs, soldiers return the fire. LS, soldiers run across field.
