BOARD FEET OR BORED TIMBER? Part 3
Description
Shows life cycles of wormhole borers (hickory borer, ambrosia beetle, etc.) and prescribes methods of their elimination. Trees, devastated by the borers, are examined. Felled logs, in which the borers reproduce, are either moved quickly to a sawmill or are peeled to expedite drying. Infected trees are girdled to remove nourishment from the pests. Lumber is examined for infection.
