OPERATION SAILOR HAT Part 1

Description

1) LS Over water towards target ships at anchor off beach of Kahoolawe Island, Hawaii; heavy cloud formation seen in upper far BG; 500 tons of TNT is exploded on beach at test site creating a fireball and shock wave, streaks seen thru scene from warning rockets; mushroom cloud is created by fireball, moving up and out. VG 2) LS Over water towards test ships and mushroom cloud in L far BG hanging over island. VG 3)HA MCU Civilian and military personnel on deck of ship viewing shoreline with binoculars, fresh breeze is blowing over water seen at L. VG 4) LS Over water towards island and three test ships unidentified a/c seen in flight over island in far BG. VG 5) A-G LS Three test ships anchored close to shore of island; PAN R over water. F 6) A-G CU Over irregular rocky shoreline. G 7) A-G MLS Mushroom cloud hanging over shoreline, irregular streaks of smoke seen in FG from warning rockets, slow PAN R moving closer to mushroom cloud. G-F 8 )A-G MCU Test ships at anchor just off beach area of island, part of mushroom cloud seen at L. G 9) A-G MLS Shoreline of island, warning rockets are launched from L of scene, sending several small trails of white smoke thru sky in FG; PAN up to show vastness of uninhabited part of island, streaks of smoke in FG; PAN R to show explosion, fireball and shock wave passing test ships close to island; port wing of camera a/c seen in upper FG, heavy column of black smoke hanging over island. VG 10) A-G MCU PAN over smoke, target ships; PAN further R to show USS ATLANTA(IX-304) and two other ships covered with smoke drifting over water.(SV) as before. C-F 11)-G MCU PAN over target ships, DLG in lower FG, ATLANTA in MBG, DDG class ship in LBG. G 12) A-G MS ATLANTA; PAN inland over island to show muddy water extending outclose to side of ATLANTA from impact area; PAN further around to show crater created by blast. 13) A-G HA MS Port beam view, DLG target ship anchored close to island, PAN R to show ATLANTA anchored very close in to shore exposing it's starb'd. side, PAN further R to show DDG class target ship anchored, the fartherest ships from island. VG 14) A-G M Target ships, tip, of island seen at R. (SV) G 15) A-G MS Crater caused by blast, looking much like top of volcano; muddy water extends out from shore, PAN L to ATLANTA and DLG in far BG, PAN around for starb'd. beam view of ATLANTA with crater in RFG. VG 16) A-A HA MS Side view, two UC-45J type aircraft in formation over water, third a/c flies thru scene L to R. 17) A-A MLS Front view, three UC-45J a/c in formation over water in area of test site, one a/c leaves scene L, camera stays with two others.
