Friendship Train Reaches Seaboard (Universal Newsreel, Nov 1947)
Description
The original release sheet reads: 1. FRIENDSHIP TRAIN REACHES SEABOARD: The Friendship train speeds through the Middle West and east growing ever longer. New York gives it a rousing welcome with a parade of lighter loads of cars around the Statue of Liberty, and then proceeds to add many carloads of food for Europe's hungry. 2. REDS FEAR OUR MOVIES, SAYS JOHNSTON: NEW YORK - Motion picture pioneers hear Eric Johnston as he calls U.S. motion pictures the last link with people behind the iron curtain. The fact that Reds fight our pictures, he offers as proof that they are free of communist influence. 3. FOOTNOTE ON FURS: NEW YORK - Furs take on a very special glamor when they are modelled by motion picture lovelies. Miss Paula Croset, featured in The Exile is chosen Miss Cinderella by the fur manufacturers. Pity Poor Cinderella. 4. PRINCETON BEATS YALE: PRINCETON - In one of the season's most stunning upsets, the underdog Tigers claw the Eli Bulldogs to the tune of a 17-0 score. Two touchdowns and a field goal account for the score. (LOCAL – CANADA) SO. AFRICAN TRADE COMMISSION.
