Description

The original release sheet reads: 1. HUGE LAND PLANE FLIES: SAN DIEGO - The world's largest land plane, the XC-99 built for the Air Force, takes to the air on a spectacular and successful test flight. As thousands watch, the mammoth craft cruises for over an hour. 2. HOLLYWOOD BANS "REDS": NEW YORK - Taking drastic action following Congressional contempt proceedings against ten film figures, the Motion Picture Association announces the banning of all communists from motion pictures. Eric Johnston, head of MPA, makes the announcement. 3. VIENNA CLEANS UP: AUSTRIA - A menace to traffic, the ruins of the war-damaged Philliphof house are leveled by two separate dynamite blasts. Surrounding buildings are unscathed by the twin explosions. 4. SWAMP DENIZENS BATTLED: OKEFENOKEE SWAMP, GA - Battling alligators, poisonous snakes and other jungle creatures, Ross Allen and his "advance party" of Indians fight their way into the hitherto unexplored swamp. 5. SKI SEASON UNDERWAY: MT. RAINIER - With the season's first heavy snowfall, thousands of ski fans jam the colorful slopes of Mt. Rainier Nat'l. Park. Sporting thrills supreme, with new ski fashions to accentuate the positive. Pretty models show the latest in ski finery.
