Description

The original release sheet reads: PONTIFF TELLS THRONG ILLNESS IS OVER Crowds in St. Peter's Square cheer Pope John XXIII when he makes his first appearance since he was stricken with anemia. The Pontiff was stricken in the midst of the Ecumenical Council, but now displays some of his old vigor. SCIENTISTS STUDY WORLD WEATHER IN NORTH Men from McGill University take elaborate reading on Axel Heiberg Island in the Canadian arctic to make long-range weather forecasts. They can tell from the movement of glaciers whether future weather will be warmer or colder. U.S. YOUTH WINS POLISH VIOLIN COMPETITION Charles Treger becomes the first American to win the Wieniawski competition as he is acclaimed over eleven other finalists. From the mid-west, Charles is 27 and an associate professor of music. THE FASHION PARADE These are the hats to go with the coming stream-lined hair-dos. Perky is the word for the toques and berets that lend added charm to the chic woman. There's nothing like a new hat for a gal's morale... SPORTS WORLD SERIES OF RODEO Ninety of the top money winners compete in the National Finals Rodeo. These are the champions, but you can bet your last roundup that the horses and bulls handle them like any ordinary mortal --- bounce 'em right off.
