Description

The original release sheet reads: END A-TESTS: UNITED STATES BAN UNTIL "BIG THREE" TALKS President Kennedy announces that the U.S. and Britain will send high-level negotiators to Moscow in July for conferences on a nuclear test ban. Meanwhile, the president says that the U.S. will discontinue nuclear tests unless some other country resumes them. "WILD AND WONDERFUL": VIPS ATTEND PARTY ON PARISIAN SET They crown "Miss France of America" on the set of "Wild and Wonderful" and it's like a breath of Paris. The background is a huge street scene of the Montemarte-a set that helped keep the entire movie company right in Universal City rather than across the seas for authentic atmosphere. When in California, do as the Parisians do. SPORTS SIX MEN RUN FOUR-MINUTE MILE The first six finishers in the mile run at Compton, California, break the fabled four-minute mark as New Zealand's Peter Snell runs the fourth fastest mile in history-only a second an one tenth away from his world mark 3:54:4. "CHATEAUGAY" IS TRES GAI The Kentucky Derby winner who was defeated in the Preakness bounces right back to take the Belmont Stakes. In the stretch he takes off after "Candy Spots", who won the Preakness, and in a driving finish wins $100,000 and cheers from those who backed him at 4 1/2 to 1.
