Description

The original release sheet reads: ARGENTINE VOTES: PERONISTS SHOW LITTLE STRENGTH The followers of Juan Peron, ousted Argentinian dictator, put up a poor showing as the country goes to the polls to elect a president just 15 months after the military ousted President Arturo Frondizi. Although he fled the country 8 years ago, Peron still has his adherents and he advised them to cast blank ballots. Only 15% are thus cast-against 1/3 just a few years ago. Dr. Arturo Illia polls the most votes and will probably become president. DEDICATE PLAQUE TO MOVIE PIONEER At the annual meeting of the directors of the Will Rogers Hospital in Saranac Lake, New York, a memorial is unveiled John J. O'Connor, a movie pioneer whose wisdom and foresight contributed greatly to the hospital that treats members of the entertainment world. JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES CONVENE IN NEW YORK Yankee Stadium is crowded with 67,000 members of the sect who meet in one of 25 world-wide conventions. Mantle and Berra would never recognize their playground. HONOR MOUNT EVEREST CONQUERORS President Kennedy presents gold medals to members of the expedition which conquered Mt. Everest, including the first American to scale the summit. SPORTS YACHTS RACE AROUND THE [MISSING] The world's biggest yacht [missing] 200 boats of all classes battle strong winds [missing] around the island. A REWARDING SATURDAY [MISSING] "Y flash" flashes [missing] plywood derby and nearly $80,000 [missing] as he runs his carning to more [missing]
