Royal Wedding (Universal Newsreel, Sep 1964)
Description
The original release sheet reads: ROYAL WEDDING: In a story-book romance, King Constantine of Greece takes Princess Ann-Marie of Denmark as his bride and Queen. The romance began when she was 12 and he a grown-up eighteen. It flourished as they murmured sweet nothings in English. The bride knows little Greek, but she knows they have a word for it----happiness. HONOR WEST BERLIN GI HERO: Mayor Will Brandt honors Specialist Fourth Class Hans Puhl who risked his life under gunfire at the Berlin Wall to rescue a fleeing refugee. The East Berlin guards opened fire at the refugee and the United States soldier fired tear gas, threw a rope and helped cut the barbed wire and pull Michael Meyer to safety. The refugee is recovering after suffering five gunshot wounds. NEW HIGH-SPEED TRAIN IN JAPAN: Japan has an answer to some of her railway ills...a high-speed train on the Tokyo-Osaka run that can do 120 m.ph. However, it is going to loaf along at 75 m.p.h. on the 300-mile run and it in four hours. Have a nice trip....did you? SPORTS FOOTBALL CALIFORNIA 21 MISSOURI 14 Old man upset takes the center of the stage as the curtain goes up on a new football season. Underdog California goes right to work on Missouri as quarterback Craig Morton does some plain and fancy passing. The favored tigers begin to growl in the third quarter....but too little...too late! They go down 21 to 14.
