Kimball, presents posthumously the nation's highest award, the Congressional Medal of Honor, to the parents of three Marine Corps heroes who gallantly gave their lives for their country in Korean actions above and beyond the call to duty. (The Pontagon, 30 August 1951). General Clifton B. Cates, Commandant of the Marine Corps, was present and participated in the cremonies as did Under Secretary of the Navy Whitehair, the Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Fechteler, and other high ranking officials, Navy and Marine Corps officers. Receiving the nation's highest awards in the names of their sons are. in the order listed below: Mr. and Mrs. Baldomero J. Lopez for their son, 1st Lieutenant Baldomer Lopez, USMC. 2. Mr. and Mrs. Simon R. Christinson for taix son, Private First Class Stanley R. Christianson, USMC 3. Mr. and Mrs. Peter R. Obregon for their son, Private First Class Eugene A. Obregon, USMC. After sufficient copies have been made, the master positive is to be sent to the Film No Yoz which, in turn, will return it to this office. The master positive must not librarian, Signal Corps Photographic Center, 35-11 35th Avenue, Long Island City 1, be cut in any manner. A dupe negative was released today in New York to Telenews for duplication and distribu- tion to all members of the television pool and to non-members who make satisfactory financial arrangements. Telenewa will deliver the dupe negative to Mr. Samuel Schlein, DeLuxe Laboratories, 850 Tenth Avenue, Now York, No You telephone Circle 7-3220g within 24 hours after receipt, Daluxe Laboratories will make copies for authorized ision companies at the latter's expense and upon request.
