Summary: Reel 1: Slate. 11' LS, test area of the XLR-99 engine. 14' LS, XLR-99 test area. 17' LS, XLR-99 test area; men working. 21' LS, SAA. 45' LS, SAA. 63' LS, SAA; then the men walk out of frame R/L. 71' MS, XLR-99 test area; LOX vapors come from engine. 106' MS, area with men walking back in frame L/R, and over to the engine. 197' MS, engine fires; then men walk into frame L/R and inspect the engine. 851' MCU, XLR-99 engine starts and vapor goes out. All men leave scene R/L except one man who puts on special helmet so he can stay and check engine as the vapor continues. 973' MCU, XLR-99 engine; man with special suit removes helmet as other men walk into scene L/R. 995' Total footage. Reel 2: 8' LS, fire coming out of XLR-99 engine exhaust (2 takes). 68' LS, blaze dies down from X-15 exhaust as vapor or smoke rises up from bottom of engine stand. 78' Leader and slate. 108' MS, XLR-99 exhaust cone; smoke (or vapor) comes pouring out under the cone. As engine fires; flames shoot out of cone and the vapor (or smoke) dies out. As engine is running, the flame varies its distance at different thrust. Flame is thrown way out and then dies out. 76 feet, 7 frs. later the smoke comes rolling in from couter frame L/R. 78 feet later a puff of smoke pours out of exhaust cone. 483' Total footage. Reel 3: MS, firing area (NG -- too short). 3' Slate. 19' MS, XLR-99 engine sitting on test block in firing area (2 takes). 22' LS, engine vapor coming out from under it. 38' LS, engine with exhaust coming out of cone, and dies out. Vapor comes again; it dies out then the vapor dies down. 75' LS, engine; men walk L/R over to engine and examine cone. 134' LS, men examining engine. 147' LS, engine firing with vapor coming up from below; fire dies out. 329' LS, engine; exhaust from cone, and vapor from ground. 337' LS, XLR-99 engine. 360' LS, engine, men working around it. 387' Total footage.
