The original release sheet reads: 1. FORMAL CEREMONIES FEATURE OPENING OF GIANT $60,000,000 SPAN: NEW YORK, NY - The George Washington Bridge, the longest suspension crossing in the world, is dedicate and opened to traffic as a crowd of 50,000 view the impressive exercises. Governor Roosevelt and Governor Larson join hands on the structure, towering high over the Hudson River, which was completed in record time. 600,000 motorists avail themselves of the new artery on its first day in public use, and hundreds vie to be the first over the mammoth new link between the sister states. 2. NATIONALIST PARTIES UNITE IN HUGE RALLY UNDER HITLER BANNER: BAD HARZBURG, GERMANY - Demanding the overthrow of the Bruning government, thousands take part in the fusion of the goose-stepping Steel Helmet and the Fascist organizations. “National Opposition” — the new party — is founded with the support of Dr. Alfred Hugenberg at the greatest political rally his cohorts have taken part in within recent years. Old army and navy leaders join in the revolt against the present regime of the republic. NEWS PARAGRAPHS: 3. GAR WOOD FAILS IN TRY AT KAYE DON’S SPEEDBOAT RECORDS: NEW YORK, NY - The Detroit ace performs in a water carnival for charity and misses in his effort to lower the time of his British rival. Braving death in the driftwood-littered Harlem and paced by Miss America VIII, Wood pilots Miss America IX at a rate of 104.2 miles an hour, as 75,000 spectators compare his attempt with the 110-mile mark made by the doughty Englishman. 7. YALE’S 88-YARD RUN TIES CADETS, 6-6 IN THRILLING GRID TILT: NEW HAVEN, CT - One of the season’s most colorful football pageants ends in a dead-lock after 60 minutes of spectacular pigskin toting by the Bulldog and Army backs. Brilliant passing by Stecker brings the soldiers to the Blue goal stripe and the young warrior then plunges over for the first score. Retaliation is not far away, though, for Bud Parker, young sophomore quarterback, taking Joblansky’s kick-off, plows through the entire West Point squad for a touch-down after the second longest run ever made in the Bowl. A contest of football’s notables. 8. JAPAN DEFIES LEAGUE AS WAR CLOUDS LOOM ON FAR EAST FRONT: MUKDEN, MANCHURIA - (Special Release!!
